Tools for Building a Culture of Workplace Health

Workplace Health Solutions –  The American Heart Association seeks to help employers enter a “Cycle of Continuous Improvement” in workplace health.  We believe every employer can improve their culture of health.  The tool analyses both your structures and processes as well as aggregate biometric data.  Results are then matched with case studies and AHA resources to help improve both processes and outcomes.  Exceptional employers will be recognized by the Association for their achievement.  Sign-up at www.heart.org/workplacehealth.  The annual deadline for recognition is March 31st.

Ideal for: Employers just (re)starting their worksite wellness efforts, those who are looking to take it to the next level, and those seeking recognition for recruitment and retention.

Check. Change. Control™ (CCC) - Recognizing that uncontrolled hypertension poses a tremendous risk to both our collective cardiovascular health and employer’s healthcare costs, CCC seeks to help employees manage what they measure.  Combining simple online tracking tools with an AHA educational platform, CCC can help your workforce better understand and control their hypertension.  Even a modest reduction in blood pressure has a dramatic impact on heart disease and stroke risks. Register at www.heart.org/mwaccc.

Ideal for: Employers who are looking for a new type of “challenge” that can begin conversations around physical activity and nutrition in a new way and for those whose employees have a demonstrated high risk for hypertension.

Healthy Food & Beverage Toolkit – A healthy workplace is one where the environment makes being healthy, easy.  A prime opportunity to improve your workplace environment and the health of your employees is rethinking the food environment.  The Toolkit contains the Association’s scientific guidelines as well as practical advice on changing your vending, catering and general food culture policies.  Recognition for those who set and achieve milestones will be provided by the Association.  Access at www.heart.org/foodwhereur.

Ideal for: Employers looking to boldly raise the bar on wellness and ensure that the environment matches your desired culture.  For many this contains the possibility to impact customer’s health as well.   Recognition and enhancement for those already leading the way.
